The Panasonic S 50mm F1.8 is a prime lens for the full L-mount system developed in partnership with Leica and Sigma. The lens has nine elements, including ED, UHR and aspherical glass. The focus group is driven by a linear motor, and the company says that focus breathing is minimal. The minimum focus distance is 0.45m (17.7″), while the maximum magnification is 0.14x.
The 50mm F1.8 is weather-sealed and freezeproof to -10°C/+14°F. It is the same size as several other Panasonic F1.8 primes, making it easy to switch lenses without having to recalibrate a gimbal, for example.
